Time flies so quickly, especially as we get older. One year just flows right into the next almost as fast as the blink of an eye.  I learnt a lot about prayer last year. I still have a lot more to learn and a long way to go in order to be deeper with Christ. Somedays I wish I could just press a pause button so I can spend more time in the presence of God.

This year my word is joy.  I love the verse from Nehemiah 8:10 which says “The joy of the Lord is my strength.”  My goal is to find joy in every day whether the day is good or bad. My desire is to be one who is not known for complaining but sharing the joy I have with Jesus in my life. True joy is only found in Christ and not my circumstances.

In some ways, this idea of finding joy in every day can be monumental. It’s not always easy seeing the good when pain and/or exhaustion takes over. It’s much easier to complain and share my woes. However, I know God is calling me to do this, he wants me to focus more and more on him in the midst of all I am going through.

Joy is not dependent on my circumstances.

Joy is knowing that God is in control.

Joy is delighting in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

Joy is exuberance!

Joy is finding pleasure in my daily life.

Joy is triumphing in the grace of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

My hope is that I will radiate joy in my life. Not just in words but in my demeanour as well. I want to LIVE JOY OUT LOUD! I want people to know that no matter what the enemy throws at me, I have victory. I am covered by the blood of Jesus. I am anointed by the Holy Spirit. I am adopted into the family of God. I am an heir of the Kingdom that is eternal and will never end!

My hope is by the end of 2017 I will be changed for the better, for God’s glory. I want joy to be oozing out of me. In order for this to happen, I am going to LIVE JOY OUT LOUD!

How does anyone LIVE JOY OUT LOUD?

  1. Put Jesus first!
  2. Listen!
  3. Speak positively- especially in our very negative world.
  4. Smile-it improves our face value greatly 🙂
  5. Laugh-I need to do this more often
  6. Keep a journal of what causes joy in each day

I am sure there are many other ways to LIVE JOY OUT LOUD every day, however, this is what I am starting with. I pray God will fill my heart and life with abundant joy as he promises in John 16:24 “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.”

If you want to join me in this journey of joy, please let me know, maybe we can share our victories together and pray for each other. God bless you and Happy New Year!
